UX design that makes your website easier to use

SOVRA Digital plans the user journey and designs the website’s interface. UX describes the user experience; UI is the visual interface. SOVRA Digital connects structure and content to the design so visitors can understand the offer and take the next step. The engagement can be commissioned separately or included in a website project.

Start with what the visitor needs to do

A usable structure starts with the visitor’s task: understanding a service, comparing options or sending an enquiry. SOVRA Digital prioritises content and journeys around these needs.

The starting material may include existing pages, customer questions and available behavioural data. New user research and testing are scoped within the engagement.

From page structure to interface

  • Structure: page purposes, navigation and content order.
  • Wireframes: the placement of answers, functions and next steps.
  • Interface: typography, components and states within the agreed visual direction.
  • Handover: approved designs with relevant development instructions.

The quotation specifies the number of pages, components, screen sizes and review rounds. Before development begins, it should be clear which views and states have been approved and which questions remain. A prototype is included when it is needed and agreed.

Visual identity can be included when the engagement covers how the business should be recognised online. SOVRA Digital then coordinates typography, colours, imagery and components for the agreed applications. An existing brand and approved guidelines provide the starting point when they are to be preserved.

Design and development have different deliverables

The design engagement establishes how the website should work and look. Development builds the functioning website.

To combine design and development, SOVRA Digital’s web development page explains the project’s scope, process and price.

When is CRO the next step?

Conversion rate optimisation is a relevant next step when you need to understand why visitors do not complete an enquiry or purchase. UX design may be part of the solution, but a new design alone is not evidence of more conversions.

The work for GENTCREATE includes both UX and CRO alongside SEO.

Define the design engagement

Standalone design and UX work is quoted individually. The scope depends on the material available and the pages, journeys and components you need.
